Registration infomation is stored in the sn.ini file in the \WinWebMail\
directory. If the system fails to find valid "sn.ini" in this directory,
the software will be regarded as unregistered, resulting in the loss user
information after the 25th user.
A safe upgrade method is:
1
Data backup: Back up your critical data to ensure
its safety, especially the popusers.ini (user accounts information
file).
Note: This is recommended but not absolutely necessary. After
upgrading, it is not necessary to restore the data from the backup.
2
Uninstalling older versions: In Add/Remove Program,
uninstall the older versions of WinWebMail completely.
This operation is safe. It will uninstall the executable files
in the installation directory and anti-virus settings in the \Web,
\adminmsg directories without affecting user data. (Note: If you
modify the anti-virus settings, please make sure to backup the *.eav
files.)
3
Install newer version of WinWebMail to the original
directory (a valid "sn.ini" file must exist in this directory) and
reboot the computer.
4
Copy the backup *.eav files back to the \adminmsg
directory.
5
Run the new version of easymail.exe or start the
NT service program.
6
Set the directory of "WinWebMail" to %installation
directory%\Web.
When you upgrade from version 3.4 or before to 3.5 or later, and need to
convert the Access97 format data of address book and notepad in the older
version, please refer to "Data Conversion" for
details.
